Justice – An Outlandish Thing

A coercion to inhale the smell
Of this murkily septic silence
The lungs get scorched
And a medley of pains and fears
On the outer coast of the tongue
Budges to lodge a protest

But

Who is there to listen?
Who is there to react?
And who can undo it?
And who will clamp down on it?

Does the thing called ‘justice’ have a heart?
Did it not shudder at the sight?

There in my ears
I heared a ruffled scream

“JUSTICE DOES NOT BELONG TO THIS LAND”.

O, Mothers!
O, Daughters!
O, Sisters!

Apologies! Apologies! Apologies

A son failed to protect you
A father failed to protect you
A brother failed to protect you

This world is a corpse if it’s not fair
A corpse can’t protect
A corpse can’t extinguish insecurity
A corpse can’t assure justice

You still count out it?
No, not again!

Frozen Toes

Resting the frozen toes
On the free sand
By this naked desolate shore
Where are you sunk?
An awareness of disharmonies
Still knocking at the resort’s door
Oh this ignorance!
There blare out the waves
Is it an escape to self-withdrawl?

A Palsied Phoenix

Words are the forgotten victims
Frosted in the freezing chill of coldness
Lying in a state of demise
A rose chronicling with its fragrance
Rise of a phoenix
From the ashes of the victims
Will it jog into the sunshine?
Will it enjoy the sweet aroma of the rose?
Will it relish the songs of the cuckoos?
A poor palsy – stricken soul

Demolition

There lies demolished
An infrastructure of hopes
Reduced to a heap
Of dust and debris
No overtone of patronage
Resonates through the crevices

So long did it remain
Proud of it’s architecture
Now an air of pity looms
For cemented bricks so crimson
Of false fidelity and zero allegiance
Never build a strong wall

Fiction is the Only Panacea

When sustenance dwindles
A quest for fancies commences
For facts only complicate
Is fiction not a magic wand
This feeds you what you seek
An envelope on the table
Scribbled in name not yours
Yet the note is taken off the veneer
An indulgence into an unfamiliar tale
Flipping, reading, dogearring
Ushering into an intimacy with the unseen
In the subtlety of inscripted ambiance
The ‘self’ is blurred
For you lose your fading hues
And borrow in theirs
‘Transaction successful’ flashes on

I Was Chased Last Night

I was chased last night
That lasted so long
By the swirling longings
To hear my breath in sleep
With mornings promised no more
To tell the reverberating wings
Of the mosquitoes arround my fortified bed
“Please! Make no noise till the last count”

I was chased last night
By the twirling longings
To reach her bookshelves
And read all the imprints
And be intimidated by the gothic arches
Painted with penetrating phrases
To meet the residents of nowhere
Proffering to dine the rights

I was chased last night
By the reverbating longings
To be the velvet clad kitten
That nobody ousts
Though an univited intrusion
To have an audience in singularity
Listening to my meowing
Clapping, caressing with due candidity

I was chased last night
By the cascading longings
To be the Crusoe cast away
From the living veins
Finding a ‘Friday’ in the ferns
To have a makeshift home
And a parrot uncaged
To tell tales to and hear back

I was chased last night
By the limping longings
To be a harp and played on
The maverick notes of my minstrel
To be the melody
That colonises thy lips
To be the fragrance thou wear
Pluralising the deserted courtyard

Stripped Off

Stripping the fragility
Housing for so long
In the conflicted cerebrum
A pack of ghosts gushes in
Invading the dispossessed
Swallow all the yesterdays
And now registering
A riotous intrusion into the present
Leaving naught for the future

A Refugee’s Barn

Stacking up all the desires within
Spilling off the phrases unspoken
Why thou seem to me a clear lake
And this thirsty self is dried all through
Drench me into thy flow

Sinking all the sobbings
Let this noise be the anchor
Getting parted with the coast
Now you seem a sea so boundless
Hide this refugee in thy bosom
