A coercion to inhale the smell
Of this murkily septic silence
The lungs get scorched
And a medley of pains and fears
On the outer coast of the tongue
Budges to lodge a protest
But
Who is there to listen?
Who is there to react?
And who can undo it?
And who will clamp down on it?
Does the thing called ‘justice’ have a heart?
Did it not shudder at the sight?
There in my ears
I heared a ruffled scream
“JUSTICE DOES NOT BELONG TO THIS LAND”.
O, Mothers!
O, Daughters!
O, Sisters!
Apologies! Apologies! Apologies
A son failed to protect you
A father failed to protect you
A brother failed to protect you
This world is a corpse if it’s not fair
A corpse can’t protect
A corpse can’t extinguish insecurity
A corpse can’t assure justice
You still count out it?
No, not again!
