A Halted Gypsy

A dark narrow tunnel between
Two over bridges with railway tracks
A makeshift home under
A roof for him to hide
It was but a conspiracy of time
Intriguing the ill-fated soul
Into the ever entangling web
Of daily challenges
And excruciating misery
A constant hide and seek
All but no peace
Hunger pinching the shrunken bellies
Do you know
What was nature’s cruelest play
A rain from the sky
And flood heading homeward
Inundated ground
Wet grains floating
Sitting in the ankle deep water
Waiting for a light to saunter in
The natural shower takes a halt
And there runs a train over
Doesn’t it stop untill it’s gone
There ticks a clock in his cerebrum
Enlightenment dawns
Why on Earth a gypsy halted
Making it a constant shelter
“Oh! Get up. Buckle up your shoes.
Run! Roam! Reach new regions!”
