Parched Terrain

An ache in the belly last night
And through and through
He tossed and twisted
An exclamation of ‘aah’!
A chorus cacophonous

One thing he sought was sleep
The only tool to raze the pains off
More concerned was he
Of the source it emanated from
Since the heart was frozen lake
It followed the trajectory down the belly

Weaned was the soul
An anatomy disrupted
Once he had seen
How a she-goat separated her kid
While it was feeding on
Parched psyche with passions unfed
